April 2025 press release:
Casanova-Warrenton Pony Club, part of the Virginia Region of United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC), is celebrating the outstanding achievements of four of its talented riders who have been selected for Pony Club International Alliance (PCIA) Exchange teams. Their dedication to horsemanship, competition, and sportsmanship has earned them the honor of representing their club, region, and country on an international stage.
In 2024, Lillian W. (H-A HM, C-2 EV) proudly participated in the PCIA Quiz Exchange, where she joined a select group of equestrians from the United States in testing their expertise in horse care, stable management, and competition rules against international counterparts at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Her selection and successful participation reflect her exceptional knowledge and commitment to Pony Club’s educational foundation.
And just announced for 2025, Amira C. (H-B HM, B EV, C-2 DR), has been chosen for the PCIA Inter-Pacific Exchange, where she will travel to Australia to compete in Eventing, a demanding discipline that requires riders to excel in dressage, show jumping, and cross-country riding. Selection for this exchange is highly competitive, with riders needing experience at Training level Eventing and Show Jumping at 3’6”, as well as proficiency in riding unfamiliar horses. Amira’s selection to the US team demonstrates her outstanding skills and dedication to the sport.
Also named to an international competition team in 2025, Lyla S. (C-2 HM, C-1 EV, C-2 EV1, D-3 HSE) will represent the United States as a member of the PCIA Mounted Games Exchange team, a thrilling discipline that requires speed, agility, and teamwork in fast-paced relay-style events. Lyla’s ability to adapt quickly and navigate technical challenges has earned her a well-deserved spot among the top Pony Club competitors across the country as they meet to learn and compete in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, Zoë S. (C-2 HM, C-1 EV, C-2 EV1) has been named as an Alternate for the PCIA Mounted Games Exchange team, further solidifying Casanova-Warrenton Pony Club’s presence at the international level. Zoë's skill and dedication ensure that she is well-prepared to contribute to the team when needed.
“These incredible riders exemplify the values of commitment, sportsmanship, and passion that define Pony Club,” said Carrie Camp, Regional Supervisor of the Virginia Region Pony Clubs. “Their selections reflect years of hard work and dedication, and we are incredibly proud to see them represent Casanova-Warrenton Pony Club, the Virginia Region of USPC, and United States Pony Clubs, on an international stage.”
